There's an answer for that. It's not AT ALL due to a lack of hakaras hatov. It's because everyone's definition of the like button is something else. By some it's if they spit out their coffee from laughter, by others it's when it's an excellent deal, yet by others it's when someone linked a nice article... and this list is endless.
