Hotel Award Chart Discrepancies
« on: August 30, 2016, 03:13:22 PM »
Thought a thread similar to the flight one would be a cool idea. Unfortunately, I don't have any examples to start us off, but I'm thinking of things like the old price of the Conrad Koh Samui which was ~36K when it's now 80-95K. Anyone else have examples of hotels that are currently in a category that is well below their actual value?

I meant deals that were better than just a 5K savings.  :P

Understood. I meant more points savings compared to how much it could be (if it was in a higher category).

How is that to be judged? Current category vs what we think its category should be? Vs 1 category up? I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for.

A sweet Hyatt hotel that's for some reason a cat 3 when it could be in the top cat 7. If any of those exist...

Andaz Papagayo in Costa Rica is a Category 4 but it's comparable to hotels in the higher categories.

Good example, although I haven't been there. Would go for it soon if not for Zika.

Westin All Inclusive in Costa Rica is probably the even better bargain over there.
