Called yesterday amex about a question I had on my statement and rep offered me the 5k bonus for $500 spent!
Had already 5 AU so just closed and reopened one to trigger the bonus!

Anyone can confirm? Don't have the new au which I opened, any chance the spending on any of my cards will trigger the bonus?
