I wasn't asked in EWR

Well, it was EWR. Everyone deserves free booze there.

Pretty embarrassing how bad the UCs in their flagship hub are.

Today's normal spending, with nothing intentionally done for travel credit other than using Uber eats for lunch instead of postmates. :)
Granted, MCAR is a hold, final authorization will be much less.

Any opinion on whether or not a truck rental from penske will trigger my travel credit? Will it be covered by the cards insurance?

I'm planning to book a flight on BA from LGW to OPO, preferably using Chase UR points.

The BA website shows the fare as £40 (= $50.35) for Economy Basic or £53 (= $66.71) for Economy Plus, which includes one checked bag and 48-hour seat selection. I will have a checked bag, so I need Economy Plus (the fee for checking a bag on Economy Basic is £30 if booked in advance or £40 at the airport)

Chase shows this same flight for $66.50 (or 4,433 UR points). It identifies the class as simply Economy. Based on the price, is it safe to assume that this is Economy Plus?

Booked hotel stay on Sapphire Reserve for full $300 travel credit. Have to cancel the trip. Anyone know if Chase will retroactively apply the credit to other travel related spend if the year-end has passed on the card? If trip is canceled after year-end but currently still 2016 cycle, worthwhile to spend $300 on travel and hope Chase will apply credit?

I'm looking to meet my $4000 minimum spend and am planning to buy a plane ticket for a summer 2017 trip that will put me over $4000.  I will be buying a refundable ticket because there's a chance my travel plans may change.  If I have to cancel the ticket and receive a refund, will this have any impact on the sign up bonus points that I received as a result of meeting the $4000 spending threshold?

Make sure to hit the spend aside from that, just in case you have to cancel.

Do I need to hit the spend (beyond plane ticket) within the 3 month window?

If I have a 3rd night free Fairmont coupon, is their any way I can book the first two nights using UR points towards cash reservation?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Should work, a UR booking is really a cash reservation, Idk if that cert has to be used at the time of booking though or if you can call and add it after you already have the reservation.

The clock reset when your December statement closed. Not Jan. 1 like Amex Pt and others.

I just finished spending my $300 on travel. My payment due date is 1/23. My statement will hopefully close on 12/26 after the charges have posted and credits applied.
Any chance the holidays will have my statement closed early?
