Looking for a phone that can have text enabled or disabled by TAG. They say the only model that it can be done on is the LG 220. It is quite expensive on Amazon. Any better place to buy it? Or any other suggestions? Thanks.

ETA: Is this the best thread for this question?

Following, would like one as well.
 The https://www.verizonwireless.com/basic-phones/kyocera-cadence-lte/
Works good as well and can be found for a bit cheaper online and was told some Verizon stores still have this available.

However, on this one Tag charges $35 to disable, so the price difference isn't that great anymore.

Any dumb phones out there that could still connect to Google, specifically to download (and hopefully sync) my contacts? Preferably with Verizon.

The Kyocera does not have the ability to reinstate texting after it has been disabled.

Could someone please explain to me the problem with texting. Why is it unacceptable?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Seems like you're a bit knowledgeable in this area, if one goes ahead and put the filter to block the internet on that phone does everything else work properly?

Why do you think it's UNACCEPTABLE? It's mostly a גדר some people take in themselves to be farther from technological things.

(There is however an issue some point out that in text it's much less shameful to communicate inappropriately than there is over the phone.)

You should be more detailed what you include in "everything else". But anything not related at all to internet works same as without the block.

Meaning will it stop the camera / the video function?

Just curious when one blocks the actual internet entirely any chance the hotspot on such a small phone would work?

It does not stop anyting about the camera and video.

Hotspot can technically work with "the internet" (which means basically browsing and web connectivity), though not sure if they allow it to remain open.

Nope, not knowledgeable. I'm glad @Yisroel Tech is helping you.  :)
