4 inquiries in short time span
« on: April 03, 2011, 10:40:28 PM »
My credit scored are all around 715. i just did a 3 browser method amex for gold plat and spg there was prob with my application for spg so it never got processed. I also have an application from October from another gold. I have a few questions. 1) how bad will it be to have 3 more inquiries in a short amount of time. I want to apply for the two citi 75k AA offers the chase co 50k bonus plus the united 30k offer and i want to do another app for an spg along with some other amex. So my first question is, is this to much to do in a short time? Secondly if i do this approximately how much do u think it will hurt my credit score and for how long? and 3rd) when would it be safe to start applying for new cards again? i know there are no set rules but all opinions and advice is welcome

It would be helpful to know which banks hit which credit bureaus for you. The hits themselves wouldn't ding your scores too much, but there's more to getting approved than a good credit score. You probably want to tread lightly.

Patience is a virtue. Good things come to those who wait. (mildly redundant, but I'm trying to make a point here)

Yes sir.

The more you risk, the less likely you are to be approved.

Why not do them both at the same time? Either way, I just got approved with Amex/Cap1 and I had 9 inquiries on my Experian, so there isn't a magic number above which you automatically get declined.

One thing at a time. Do the Citi (3 browsers) now. You can always decide to do the Plat later.
