I wouldn't say the battery life is "meh". But it is pricey. And it's missing features not found on other phones but it's by far the smoothest, cleanest Android phone out there. And that camera is pretty great as well :)
Have you compared in hand it to the v20?

Only smooth matters, not clean (LG's features are more useful then not)

I have, yes. I still think the Pixel runs smoother. There is no perfect device unfortunately.

If you're upgrading now with that criteria the LG V20 isn't a bad choice.

PS, I had both the Verizon LG G4, and the international edition. The Verizon software was much more prone to crashing and battery drain was ridiculous.

Hoping that your software issues were only because if that.

Did it take time to get used to how much taller the V20 is?
Interesting. Software issues really killed it for me, though if my Note Edge dies I'll probably still go back to it.

The size of the phone didn't bother me. Loved the ability to shrink the screen so easily when I needed one-handed use.

For an Android phone, it's pretty meh for the price.

But for a product touting such deep optimization, it should be getting results more like the iPhone, not just a little better then a phone with a significantly larger screen (V20).

just curious... Did you use an app to transfer all your apps, texts etc to the v20?
I didn't, but then had to get a new one for whatever reason (had some random reboots whenever using a certain app for long periods of time).

On the second one i used lg backup and started getting crashing apps. On some of them i just had to make sure the permissions were set correctly (for some reason lg backup didn't transfer the set permissions) and others i had to uninstall and reinstall. Since then haven't had any more crashes. Just a thought since my crashing apps seemed to match your issues

Nope.

Another thing I had on a couple occasions was that the battery wouldn't charge past 92 percent unless I pulled it out.
Was probably just a defective phone.

And now my battery life is terrible on my second device. Think I'm gonna go back to my first one if it doesn't get better

I'll bite.

ETA: Thanks. Was on the fence for the last 2 months, but we'll give it a shot now. On top of the rebate, Verizon had $50 off on this phone on my account ($249.99 with 2 year contract) + the Amex offer this is pretty much a free upgrade.

What makes it better than the Edge?
My only problem with the Edge is my battery life. Debating between new batteries, trying the V20 again, or waiting for the S8.

What makes it better than the Edge?
a few things off the cuff. im sure there are more
1- have found the 2nd screen to be way more responsive and easy to use (my edge screen always froze up)
2- battery life is phenomenal in comparison
3- double tap on and off is amazing
4- fingerprint reader is way faster
5- charges faster
6- overall seems faster and more responsive (doesnt freeze up like my samsungs used to)
