Charter JFK-TLV for Sukkos $999

Nebach. I could only imagine what this will cost Do-All. Aside from their reputation, they've been spending lots of $$ on advertising the past few months.

I saw it at least twice (and I don't read more than 2papers a week). Do u have any clue what it costs to place a full page color ad in these Jewish papers?

Because they did not come up with this. Travel agents scratch their heads in each and every year to find reasonable flights for Sukkos, and it is very hard.

It's been asked plenty of times "maybe we should do a charter" and the answer always was that it's not worth it, stay away. The question was how Do All DID pull it off. Umm, we got the answer. In any case, there is no new one coming....

To me everything seemed funny when after a couple of weeks selling the charter they were not able to confirm if the J is flat bed.

Just so people here know, I know the line and Do All is very well respected in the industry. Everyone makes a mistake here and there, yup their mistake is a bit oversized.....

Legit charters are prohibitively expensive.

So what your saying is - if an agency would get a legit charter and fill it to the capacity, it still would not make sense monetarily for them?

Airlines make 100% of their profits from last minute people paying $$$$$ for their seats. The rest of the plane flies for less than the real cost of their transportation (and no, that doesn't mean they are stealing from the airline  ).
The $$$$ people are going to spend their money on the major airlines, not your charter. Therefore the numbers don't work out.

Lizensk is a different story. It's LOT which sells their C class for pennies + there aren't many seats up front.

It was more then a few ads, but in my local papers they run an ad every week year round which they replace every while with a new campaign, so don't think there was here an extra cost

They did not manage to fill up the LOT the last 2 times. IIRC they made 2 charters years ago, one a 747 NYC-LHR-RZE (was hand luggage only as there was no ground staff then at RZE) and then a 767 non-stop to Poland a few years later
