Virtual Credit Cards & Other Methods To Avoid Purchasing Limits
« on: September 08, 2016, 07:05:06 PM »
Is using a virtual cc a way to avoid household limits? Obviously it avoids them linking same cc numbers—but can you write in a different address?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

What're you doing about shipping address?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Different address, what's the big deal?

Much easier to have multiple cc numbers than different shipping addresses.

According to Wikipedia:
AVS verifies the numeric portions of a cardholder's billing address. For example, if the address is 101 Main Street, Highland, CA 92346, in the United States, AVS will check 101 and 92346. Cardholders may receive false negatives, or partial declines for AVS from e-commerce verification systems, which may require manual overrides, voice authorization, or reprogramming of the AVS entries by the card issuing bank. Are you saying this specifically with virtual CC?

My intention is Apple, which seems to have a very effective system of matching orders (at least when purchasing sale items from BestBuy).
Much easier to have multiple cc numbers than different shipping addresses.
I think having both is ideal.

IME (with the mint also) as long as the billing zip code matches it goes thru, even if the address is fictitious, and even if the shipping address is different.

So the mint gives maximum per shipping, or billing address?

Both may trigger the household limit
