I was looking to rent a car in Europe thru Avis an for Amex, Chase... to provide me with coverage they require i decline the CDW from Avis but Avis wont let me decline because i'm underage (i'm 22, requirement is 25).
Any ides?

if gold (or through chabad) sometimes they waive the minimum age requirement

Looking to rent an automatic sedan in Israel from Feb 13-Feb 24. I'm over 25. Cards I'm carrying: Freedom, SP, UnExp, Amex SPG, Citi Aadvantage Platinume Elite. Not looking for luxury car. If the Amex Platinum deal is around later this year, I'm going to open it. Should I wait until then for the Avis perk?

What do I have to know about renting from Avis in Israel? I just got a crazy cheap rental quote for 12 days over chanukah it is $147 for a compact after taxes and fees. That's just $12 a day.

-Will they charge underage if I am 21?

-Will they force me to buy insurance? I have personal coverage. Plus I can get SP MC if that helps.

-I am Avis president will that get me an upgrade?

-Do they allow second driver's under 25?

-Do they ever check or ask for a corporate ID?

What am I missing here?

whod u book with? thats gr8!! i got the best there 18 a day after taxes and i have wmc and prez

where u piking up from? if airport another 27
u will get the 2ble upgrade if they have (which will be a mazda 2)
if u booked thru noach forsure; and even somethimes with them straight, they will not charge under age fee, and even let u add another driver for free;
they will force u to buy insurance; there are 2 insurances one must have CDW and TPL (cdw will get taken care with ur WMC; but you will have to get Thrid Party Liability - which is if u hit someone) - make sure that includfed in your 12 is that insurance if not ts around 8-17 a day.

i just booked thru sruly fieg (again) thru thrifty so its a bit diff but there are no underage fees and free sec drivier; but in the past noach - avis/hertz was gr8 and no underage and free sec drivier 2ble upgrade extra miles (less than 3 dys)

Indeed JJ, all your missing is about $15 a day for third party insurance which is mandatory.

My experience is to call all Israeli rental agents and some have some great prices.
