You can put whatever name you want, but the drivers name and age needs to be correct obviously.
You receive a voucher to present at the rental location, which includes your name.

Staying at Cavalieri Hilton Rome for a few nights and want to rent a car to go to Florence for 2 nights , then on to Lake Cuomo for 5 nights and drop it  off at Milan Malpensa airport.

#1 Where is the best place to rent a car ?   AC. Unlimited miles

#2 Should I pick it up in town somewhere near the Hotel , or at FCO airport .

#3 whats the best card to use to rent , I have them all (almost IMO )

#4  Has anyone drove  a rental car in Italy?

#5 Any other pointers . Age not a problem and want to rent GPS

I've rented personally one way rentals through the link I've provided specifically in Italy. The price was wow. Check it out.
Buy a cheap GPS that includes Europe, or better yet, if you have data there, use Waze.
Every car has AC.
If your hotel has free parking (nearby), take from FCO.
This company usually offers cdw incl, so the charge that you really on for your cc isn't that much.
Unlike people think, a credit card insurance doesn't necessarily protect you against all charges.

Prices range from $300-$400
In Italy I'd be careful with  insurances, as they are thieves.
Returning to airport locations seem cheaper.

I'm looking to rent a car for a month long southeastern Europe road trip this summer. There are two issues with this rental, which is why I'm posting here. The first issue is that I will be 20, and it looks like the minimum age for many agencies is 21. The second issue is that I'm pretty sure most agencies don't allow rentals to be driven to many of the countries that I want to go to. The countries that I may want to include on my trip are as follows: Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, San Marino, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein. I'm prepared to rent from anywhere in Europe if I need to, but the most convenient place for me would probably be Munich, Germany. I want either a 7 seater or a 5 seater with a lot of space for luggage. I would really appreciate any help if anyone knows of any possibilities. As I really want this to work out I may even consider buying and then selling a car, if that were the only option. My dates are probably June 27th to July 27th.

Good luck with that. THERE IS NO WAY TO BOOK A ONE WAY RENTAL IN EUROPE BETWEEN COUNTRIES WITHOUT HEFTY ONE WAY (DROP) FEES, PERIOD.

Just find alternative transportation or pay the huge one way fees.
CarLrent.com best prices for car rentals worldwide.

I used autoeurope.com a few years ago and had a good experience. They come up with $208 with Hertz for your dates.
chase united or SP will cover your insurance, but confirm with the chachamim here.
Our car, but this was years ago, came with GPS no extra charge

Costco has for 156 but shows manual. Any way to get automatic at the counter?
