It's a serious question. I'd love to see it all written up, with the length of the layovers and everything.
well regarding your first point, im sure you can count and get your answer
regarding your second answer, rashi gives a vague broad overview of how many years were x masa'os

Likkutei Sichos Chelek 31 Second Sichah on Purim explaining the story in the Gemara קם רבה שחטי' לרב זירא.

If you want 1 Sichah to demonstrate all that's Geshmak about Likkutei Sichos this is the Sichah :)
http://www.chabad.org/therebbe/article_cdo/aid/93598/jewish/A-Perplexing-Purim-Feast.htm#footnoteRef16a93598

Just stumbled on this thread. I had a different pshat that deals with some of the questions on that maaseh.

The basic idea is that they were in fact physically drunk (as the Rebbe holds) and they were discussing hilchos schechita. Rabbah ended up demonstrating his point on R Zeira. What was the point in hilchos shechita they were discussing? The gemara in Chullin brings a machlokes about schechting with a hot knife: is it the sharpness or the heat that is 'cutting'? R Zeira answers there that it's the sharpness of the knife. How did he know? The Chasam Sofer there explains that the knife in the maaseh in Megillah was hot, and R Zeira was able to fel that the sharpness cut him, not the heat! Must be they were discussing this question of the gemara in Chullin and decided to experiment.

The best part is, no one can shlug it up - it's Purim torah ;D

Anyone know where I can download audio shiurim on Rambam?

Chabad.org has but you can only download one perek at a time.

Iirc correctly we know nothing about the years in the midbar except for year 1,2, and 40.  The only thing we know about the other places is that we stopped there.

Look for a good download manager, you'll be able to extract the download links and load them for batch downloading.

And that they spent 38 years in 1 place.

Could someone construct an itinerary based on the mem-beis masa'os from this week's parshah?

How many legs is the trip? Is it 42 "cities" and Ramseis is 1 of the 42 or is it 42 legs with the first leg being Ramseis to Sukkos?

More interestingly, is there a spiritual guide to how we can experience each of these journeys?

ETA: found it! http://meaningfullife.com/spiritual/soul/42_Journeys.php

And that they spent 38 years in 1 place.

Didn't they spend 19 years in Kadesh (Barneah)?

You're both right. I just looked it up. My memory really is failing me (or i just didn't listen properly in class). I'm referring to the first Rashi of פרשת מסעי where he writes that 14 were during the first year, 8 were during the last year that leaves you with 20 for 38 years.

The Baal Shem Tov said you don't even have to try. :)

My chumash I used as a kid in school had that but most of it can only be based on conjecture. Even the Masaaos in the Midbar where we know the name of each step we have no way of knowing where most of those places are (and even the ones we know like the Yam Suf and Har Sinai there is no agreement as to the exact places).

I was learning with my chavrusa i used the Hebrew artscroll and he used the English version we bumped into this gemora,
In the English version it was spelled ּיַׁקְנו and the Hebrew version was spelled ּיִקָנו which one is correct and does it at all make a difference
