If by the latter you mean the PayPal MyCash Card, they work and are fun but PP is quick to shut you down, so it generally doesn't last long.

They only shut you down if you withdraw to a bank account or do MS with the PP DC.

does anyone have experience using paypal to trigger a direct deposit? ie if i transfer 5000 to paypal using 1 bank account and then that money to a diff bank that considers paypal a d.d to trigger a bonus?

i know that the bank considers it a d.d my question is from paypals perspective does it look suspicious just to use them as a middleman or is that the points of paypal anyways?
