Tips for travelling with kids
« on: September 15, 2016, 02:33:14 PM »
Hi,

I searched but did not see a thread like this. If there is one, please merge/show me.

We are travelling with a 4 yr old and 1 year old on AC to TLV. Any tips for keeping them busy in the airport/plane? Any suggestions of toys or things to get that are good for a plane?

None of those are about activities/toys/ways to keep a toddler or infant busy on a  flight.

For the 4 year old, load up an iPad with 11 hours worth of TV shows.

The dreamliner has a screen in front of him with probably enough to keep him busy. For 4 year old

crayons, coloring books and paper. And a 'special' bag just for him to keep his stuff.
Add in easy snacks and his blankie.  Prep him in advance that the plane ride is so long that we sleep in our chair.
A favorite few books.

For the 1 year old, my wife saw this idea on a random Mommy website and it actually kept my daughter busy for like an hour. Bring like that decorative tissue paper. My kid loves ripping it into tiny pieces lol. Just make sure you clean up after because it can make a mess. Sounds weird but oddly enough, it worked.

Flying in F really helps as they can sit and sleep easily on the bed

Combine that with an ipad and I took 2 kids 2 & 3 on a 24 hr flight with a 16 hour return
