Best deal in New York for a hotel with points
« on: September 15, 2016, 05:42:49 PM »
Hello everyone :)

What's the best way to get a hotel on the cheap with points in New York?

I have all sorts of points and I just need a hotel room but I can't find anything cheap.

What's the best value for your buck with points?

Thank you!

Keep this in mind, though.

Often, the value of points isn't that it's so cheap (you can usually find a priceline deal or something for cheaper) but that you get a better class of service for cheaper than it would've been otherwise. If you're just looking for the cheapest out there, points may disappoint you.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

That's what I thought.

That would be a colossal waste.

It's a waste because the OP "just needs a hotel room".
Exactly

If I need to stay in a hotel and I can make an awesome redemption then that is soooo far from a waste for me.

When I travel I also need to book hotels with points to maximize the redemption. So what is the difference?

If you don't agree points haven't spoiled you yet

Yes but the OP said he wants a cheap hotel, the park Hyatt isn't going to be a cheap redemption, assuming he even has certs, maybe he's saving them for something specific.

Don't get why you are disputing with me. Let the OP decide for himself if he thinks it's an interesting route.

Takes a very short amount of time to get the 2x free night certs, change the statement close date, and you can have the certs ready to go in almost no time.

You're right, this is a stupid argument, it seems like he already decided to book something on priceline anyways.
