Shabbaton DO Master Thread

Well, that would be divided among everyone.
I'm still going to work on it (again, perhaps if it's only a few people with kids we can get after Shabbos checkout for those rooms) and otherwise, if people with kids don't want to deal with it, no one's forcing them to come.
Another fine idea for those that it works for.


Anyway, I probably won't hear back from Hyatt till Monday. Will update here then.

I hope they let everyone have the rooms till 5. Sitting around in the lounges all afternoon is difficult.  (Even without kids. People might wanna change after shabbos)

Right, obviously having the rooms all day would be ideal. We'll have to wait and see what they say. After bringing the idea up to my wife, we're probably at a 50/50 that she'll be interested in coming, so that might still be a problem.

She knows we have the miles for HI, it's the time that's the issue. She only knows 1 DDFer/wife and they don't live in NY. Let's see how serious this is on Monday and then I'll bring up the conversation more seriously.

I know for the Super Bowl, one of the teams stayed in this hotel..
On a website it shows the Dallas Cowboys stay in a diff hotel when they play the Giants, any way of know forsure if they stay here? Maybe thatll be another incentive.. hehe

I'm not sure at any point it will be easy to convince a hotel to leave 10-20 rooms until 5pm on a Saturday. Anyway, I'll hopefully find out on Monday if there is any chance it can happen.

Sure, that can be done, but it doesn't seem like rooms would be the issue. I think there's no point in seriously considering this further until we hear back from the events manager on Monday as to whether we can get a conference room, late checkout, and bring in Kosher food.

Just saying that when we make a wiki we probably should make a place for people who would have loved to come but wont be able to because if not we will not be seeing the end of this thread in the near future
