Mia isnt a united Hub.

AA should've done it, they have a lot of connecting traffic from SA

They're probably still not settled with the TWA there.

I just spoke with someone high up at LY about this. He said they are actively looking into this but it's not final - they need to secure parking spaces etc and it's not a done deal.

3x a week

It's confirmed on ElAl's website. 3 weekly flights on their 777-200, starting in Nov 2017.
Too bad it's not on the new Dreamliner, but I guess they will keep those for JFK.

"By offering a non-stop flight along with EL AL's well-known internationally recognized on-board service, we are confident this route will be a success,” added Mr. Maimon.

Chicago makes more sense IMHO. It's really beyond me what took so long to implement MIA. It just makes so much sense, both because of the huge Israeli expat population in South Florida, and for the connections to Latin America, since they do a lot of codesharing with AA.

What changed? Why did BOS make more sense than MIA?

Also MIA was tried before and didn't work.

Chairman's flight? Puts Smisek to shame!

MIA not working is less understandable than PHL not working. A competent airline should hit a home run with MIA (though many locals hate that airport, and might prefer flying out of FLL and connecting at JFK).

Would have been interesting if they would have tried FLL like EK did, and codeshare with jetBlue.
