Hey, I'm kinda hoping it gets a similar reception as the Session did, in which case they'll halve the price in two months.  I'd pick one up for $400.

Big chance of a nice price drop, but no way it'll be $400 IMO.

Why would you want to turn the no-fly zones off?

1. There's a tremendous amount of outdated information in these databases.
2. Places that have only temporary restrictions are blocked out by the system all the time, even when flight is allowed by the FAA. For example, sports stadiums outside of game time and an hour before or after.
3. Flying out of the country, where FAA exemptions procedures are impossible.

In short, I don't want a drone in violation of the second law of robotics. If I tell my drone to take off, it had better do just that. I will be the one who decides where it can and cannot fly, in accordance with the FAA's rules. And yes, I will be getting my 107 so I will actually know how and be licensed to do all that.

Mavic 4k image quality seems noticeably lower then the Phantom 4, but should only be an issue if you are cropping:

Nice video. Disappointing about the camera quality, but I'll be darned in the portability doesn't outweigh its faults.

No, that's only for commercial use, or if you want to have a license in hand in case some "authority figure" on a power trip gets in your way.

Normally you just need to put a registration number which costs $5, but many people don't.

Just played around with the GoPro Karma. Total meh, very unimpressed. Thing weighs a ton, the batteries are larger and heavier than the Phantom/Autel, the fold-out arms feel like they'll snap off if you sneeze near them, and while it is indeed smaller overall than the "regular" drones, it's still pretty darn long (longer than the regular ones, in fact). No-fly zones cannot be turned off, no matter how or when.

The new Hero5 Black looks lovely though.
