Going to be trying to travel reasonably light - how many mavic batteries should I take - 2 total or three? Also they have to be packed in carry on correct?

Depends how long you plan on flying on without waiting to charge up...

Yes, carry on only.

I guess if i bring 2 and it takes about an hour to charge I can fly for about 1hr and it'll take 30m more between flights, whereas if I bring 3 it's pretty much continuous flying.

Still new to all this but I doubt I'll want to fly more than an hour at a time - think I'll probably just bring 2.

Unless flying from the ME  ::)

I'd bring 3 for sure.

You're numbers are off... In perfect conditions you'll get about 27 minutes per battery... Including take off and return flight / landing.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

I agree with that, you'd rather not need it vs why didn't I take it along.

ME?
How was flying from a small island over all the water with the Mavic? We're you nervous at all about it? I'll be flying from BOB so similar setup...

Sorry - 54m - that's 10% difference is critical :)

I don't actually expect to get an hour- but I figured with two batteries that would get me a pretty decent amount without having to bring the hub and a third battery- but I guess Dan is advising otherwise...

Also if you are running place to place, there wont be time to charge the batteries, and if you forget or are in mid-flight and get that annoying low battery notification, you will wish you had a 3rd.

...

I flew in Hawaii and no issues with over the cliffs and water. I actually felt more comfortable there than over people/land.
When is the BOB trip?

Is there any reason why I would buy a Mavic with an AMEX card over over a Chase card?

Thinking I could possibly take advantage of the CSR's generous price matching policy...Incase it drops in price after the spark is released.

How long does it take to become efficient at using the Mavic coming off of the Phantom?

Could be an amazing deal on the Mavic Pro Fly more package? Any downside from buying from Jet as opposed to the DJI store?
