Could be an amazing deal on the Mavic Pro Fly more package? Any downside from buying from Jet as opposed to the DJI store?

https://jet.com/product/DJI-Mavic-Pro-Collapsible-Quadcopter-Starters-Bundle/3c500f0c9ab745a0b7bdd8738286853d
This is not the fly more bundle.

No reason to go directly through dji if it's cheaper somewhere else.

Why do you think that's the more package??

I sincerely apologize!

I read bundle and got too excited and overlooked everything else... Do you have any idea when the deal you mentioned will be coming?

It's still being negotiated. Alas, DJI won't let it go forward as I had hoped, but still working on it.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Sounds amazing! Good luck and looking forward to it.

Waiting for either your deal or for the spark to come out (May 24) and hopefully reduce the price of the Mavic Pro... Want it so bad that I am considering just ordering it now and price matching it with the CSR if price goes down... But, would also like to give back to you through, what I am sure will be an, affiliate link...

I guess we'll have to wait for a competing site with a price error.

Has anyone insured their drone with State Farm?

It covers pretty much everything from water damage, loss, theft, accidental damage...and you do not need to send them your drone to process the claim! You can also get it if you have own the drone for some time.

Been reading about it online and think I will do it as it's substantially cheaper and has no deductibles at prices anywhere from as low as $30 for the mavic pro- $60 for the phantom 4 pro! Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this at it is clearly a better option then DJI care and Square trade.

Works in pretty much every state but CA but there is a workaround.

Yes I have it, was $50 in NJ.
They covered my spare batteries as well, but no other accessories.

I'd be nervous of my home/car insurance rates going up if I filed a claim.

Is that only applicable if you have state farm in general?

Here is a list of State Farm agents from different states who are aware about the drone insurance policy and can easily assist you:

I'd be nervous filing a claim with a real insurance company regardless. Don't need to pay higher insurance rates for years because of a drone accident.

"Submitting a claim should NOT according to my agent increase renters or home owners insurance policy costs unless you abuse the system and constantly submit claims."

Of course, what one agent says does not mean it is concrete but if you are not abusing your claims within a 2-3 year time frame then hopefully your rates will not increase. In the long run, I guess, you are definitely correct it is not the most practical choice.

I would think that a $1-2k drone is something best self-insured

I sprung for the DJI Refresh package. Won't have to think about whether my insurance rates will go up that way if I file a claim.

Except when you get a new policy they always ask what losses you've claimed in the past (5 I think?) years.

Wow, big news today: The FAA registration rules have been ruled illegal.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/johngoglia/2017/05/19/federal-appeals-court-voids-faa-registration-rule-for-model-aircraft/#d72a423836f6

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/drone-pilots-dont-have-to-register-under-faas-controversial-rule-court-rules-2017-05-19

According to multiple reports the FAA is unlikely to appeal the ruling and is expected to update its rules in the coming weeks.
