I use CC protection for expensive electronics, but I used GCs for this and for just about everything else.

yea. but for some things (like this) that you know you wont be returning you dont need it.

Also, if something is wrong, Amazon has terrific customer service. I doubt you would have to resort to using your credit card protection(s) for an item like this.

I've used it without any ice packs with no problem. Just make sure your meals have been frozen for several days.

Have you tried it for yogurts, lebens,cottage cheese?(for an 8-10hr trip?)
