Maybe I do not have enough ice in it, but does not keep things rock solid cold for more then a 12 hours.

Same here, been using for a few months. Feels a bit overrated. Maybe im doing something wrong.
Layer bottom with ice, put food in frozen , frozen ice packs ontop… 10hrs later food thawing and ice melted

Mine keep food frozen solid for 24-36 hours in 100° weather without any ice.

Could it be that they changed something in the design?

Where can I find the 48 pack? (It is oos on Amazon and Polar Bear website.)
Do I need the 48 pack or will the 24 suffice? It seems like it works best when fully packed and I'm not planning on long trips with many people.
