amex giving out checks?

i got a 100 dollar check from amex on an hh card. the letter said since they didnt deposit points onto my account that they were supposed to deposit. i was not missing any points on this account

Maybe they are finally paying back all the referral bonuses that they were supposed to pay on the Hilton cards...
