POIDH  ;D
I forgot to mention, was due to laziness and putting the sukka up the last minute.
Does that count?

Your must be a Lubavitcher somewhere at your core  ;D
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

P.S. Is this thread doomed like the one I started with Sukkah pictures to be merged into the Pros and cons of minhagei Chabad (which wasn't even started to discuss actual minhagim but as a good humorous thread)?
I was trying to instigate to keep the thread alive....

IINM same reason they don't wear an atara on the talis. Something to do with the mitzvah itself is beautiful and doesn't need external adornment.
I thought atarah was to do with wearing tzitis either way...

My sukkah is a 16x16 fiberglass sukkah, with 4 17' beams holding up two rows of 8' schach. A classic. Nothing to write home about
I'm not who you think I am.

Eh, no atara is like the same reason as no streimel.

Once we're on the topic of Chabad headgear, can someone explain the triangle top of the crown, as opposed to the more conventional version? Is there a real reason, or is it just something that evolved?

A older chabadsker once claimed to me that the rebba was shorter than the lowest level on the bleachers and when the rebba walked by his feet were sticking out and he personally stepped on and crushed the rebba s hat and thus was born the triangle... who knows...

An aside point of lubavitch headgear why they switched from striemlach to fedoras is a fascinating story explained in The Rebba

Bencraft has told people it was because he liked very soft hats which didn't really hold the shape
