looks expensive.
no reputable hosting out here for around 2-3$ a month? Not looking at godaddy where is $3 a month for first year then $8 a month after that.
they have for $2.50 a month if you prepay for 3 years
How about Hostinger.co.uk.

When publishing a site, can I do that while the site is running, or do I need to take the site down. I tried updating a site and only the files were updated not any of the dll's, does that make sense?

I found this free website hosting company called 000webhost, are they reliable, has anybody ever tried using them?
Are there any reliable free hosting company's?
000webhost has poor security. Even though millions of people use it. I was hacked a little while ago, Palestinian hackers took over my site. There is no customer service and no one to talk to. Only forums which could be very difficult to navigate once you were hacked.
I moved to google domains and moved over my site to a paid hosting.
Rule of thumb, you get what you pay for .

There is a domain I want and the whois says the registration expired 07/06/2017 but it is still showing that it is unavailable. How can I get that domain? It is currently registered with GoDaddy.

Registrar can hold it for 1-2 months in case the owner wants to buy it back (albeit with a late fee).

Google Domains doesn't charge for the first 30 days.

I just got back an expired domain from 1and1 for no charge ( officially it's $50 ) and it was listed as a premium domain for $165. I paid $11.89 for the domain plus hosting for the year.

Based on google results you need to allow remote in transport-level connections by commenting out the default
Code: [Select]
bind-address = 127.0.0.1 to
Code: [Select]
#bind-address = 127.0.0.1
and application-level by granting user PRIVILEGES
Code: [Select]
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'root'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'password' WITH GRANT OPTION;
 FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
https://stackoverflow.com/a/14779244

you might need to change some firewall settings

lol!

So I was able to to connect remotely from another computer to the computer that is hosting the sql DB but both computers are sharing the same network, however I was not able to connect from a computer outside the network. I am not sure if it really makes a difference whether they are on the same network, just saying the facts that wasn't able to connect from a different network... not sure why

If you can help I'd really appreciate it thanks!!

My company email is currently hosted on my webhost's cpanel. We are considering getting office 365 which includes exchange email hosting. What are the advantages/disadvantages?

I use Google as well, but for some domains I have to use name.com (Google doesn't support all TLD)

Is namecheap reputable? Good?

I have a few old websites on 1and1 and need to redo it, preferably using easy drag and drop tools. Looking for a trustworthy inexpensive alternative for domain registrations and website hosting/building.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I dont have experience with namecheap but it sounds pretty good. It made it to the top five in this (old) article
