Chase changes AF refund policy to 30 days
« on: October 20, 2016, 08:24:34 PM »
According to DoC, chase had changed their AF refund policy from 60/180 days to 30 days, effective immediately and without any warning. http://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-makes-no-notice-change-annual-fee-refund-policy/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Can't blame them at all. No doubt Chase got hit with a lot of the CSR applicants asking for an AF refund as soon as the points posted.

I think it's more of just an accumulation of all the people doing it. How many people do you think we're smart enough to know you can cancel and ask for a refund but stupid enough to do it already?

That stinks. This just cost me $95 because I am right over 30 days and was waiting to close a card as leverage for recon.

Yep, the annoying part is less that they changed it, that was inevitable, but rather that it was without any prior notice.

Will they pro-rate? That's not clear in the DoC post.

They didn't pro-rate before did they? Why would they start now?

Perhaps, but the timing suggests otherwise. The blogs pushed the CSR like crazy and the AF-refund loophole became much more common knowledge — and much more costly to Chase, what with the cost of the 100,000-point bonus and the lost $450 AF.

Meh. Did you actually call and ask for a manager?
Can also product downgrade as well for a prorated refund I'd bet.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

My AF was posted about 1½ months ago. The payment still isn't due.
Does that mean I can't get it refunded?

I assume you can't product change the Fairmont to anything, correct?

Oh, why would it not work anymore? It's  a federal law.

does the law include if you lowered the cl yourself or was that just a loophole in the system?
