Its pretty simple: they are not paying a cent towards the bills that need to be paid. What are they doing with the money?

so why isint it on COL, vosizneias, etc.???

The real askonim, don't want too much noise around this clip, as something as silly as the part recorded in jail, which is illegal, could throw a completely different look on the case for the judges... And I don't mean a good one.

um, maybe this:
According to Shloimy Daskal the money is going to one of the Bochurim's father, I believe the one seen in the video, who will spend it at his discretion.
It seems far more likely to me to be a disagreement over what's considered "the bills that need to be paid" rather then somebody pocketing the money.
but then again, as I said earlier in the thread, maybe I just have too much faith in humanity...

And the owner of that site is friends with the people running the Japan campaign from Super Flyers side of the story

"who will spend it at his discretion..."

Part of the bills which I was talking about, includes family members to visit their son (typically) in jail.

The final version didnt have the bachurim in jail . No one is saying that the video camp is legit , just that there is more to the story.

sorry, I don't buy that.
This song was already on all these sites, if they're really worried about the Japanese seeing things on these sites shouldn't they want the Japanese to see negative rather than positive things about the song?

because right now in Japan they have time to surf dansdeals and VIN to look for news on the courtcase , B"H the Yated and Hamodia arent online because the judge would be busy reading and would push off the case even longer.

Exactly.
You may very well be right that there are better places to give if you want to donate to this cause.

but there's a very big area in between it being the best use of your money and somebody pocketing it.

Alright guys:

Whatever I wrote, comes from the biggest and most selfless askan on the case (from day 1).

The bills that need to be paid amount to astronomical numbers, and none other then their own collecting (donations through them) has paid anything to the case. No sure what you guys don't understand here. (Imagine you have a yeshiva, and collect for it, you would know who pays for it. No, they are not getting anonymous sums of money in the mailbox).
Is the money of japan-song going to some tsedoko? Maybe, but definitely not to what their song advertises.

I see guys are a bit blocked here, so one other example: if I'd put everywhere links to donate via paypal to DD, and the link posts to my account money, and Dan says that he never receives a cent from it, what does that say about the guy putting the links up...?

Wherever there is money to be made, dishonesty shows up, and I can imagine that such a nice clip generates far more than a lot of us are earning per year.

But please don't let me stop you guys from donating, I guess the tsunami-earthquake relief fund, where typically 90% ends up in the hand of the "machers", has at least a little percentage going to a good cause.

Notice that most of the other news sites such as ywn and matzav... never posted it in the first place - wonder why?
also although this may be tzekoda by helping the father pay his bills - that is not what I had intended my money to go for and that is not how it was portrayed that my money was being used. the problem here is not where the money is really going but rather why they are misinforming everyone - to give the father money is NOT pidyon shvuyim.
Also if the money is really going the the case then what do they care to give it back and let me donate it through the regular fund
