I read that the scrutiny around these certs has increased recently? and that the certificate holder has to use the credit card linked to the cert to make payment?

Can recent sellers / buyers confirm if its truly the case? or can the purchaser use the code and pay for the tickets with a different credit card?

That’s always been the stipulation and scrutiny has been prevalent for the past two years. I may not have sold has many as others on here (have sold quite a few though) but that’s always been part of the details of the sale (names has to match).

This is one way to do it yes; and I’ve done it multiple times. Also, I’ve had where the buyer just gets an authorized user credit card in the name of the seller so it matches (of course the auth user card goes right to the buyer so there’s no risk).

You don’t have to use the Alaska credit card. The requirement is the payment card, any credit card, just has to be the same name as the pass issued to. I for example use my Arrival+ card (or my spouse’s) as I have travel credit built up to make the flight free or significantly reduced.
