Business travel
« on: November 14, 2016, 02:53:11 PM »
Hi.   I need to spend $5,000 on a business trip in the LA area.  I cannot use miles or points as those are not tax deductible.    I will be paying for everything (flights, hotel, car rental, dining etc.).

Any ideas on hotels etc., that offer rebates or other post sale incentives that do not deduct from the total invoiced cost?   Plus, ideas on maximizing the points and status for hotel stay

TIA

Maybe find a travel agent who would be willing to use points etc, and u can pay them as tax deductible

Another great idea.  I considered that, however I found a better value with purchasing ticket outright and upgrading with points/money for businessfirst
