If it's really this isolated then it may not make it, we'll have to see if reports come in from more places. If nothing changes I would say write/call/email some higher level people and see what they can do.

I am hopeful that Google will reinstate the accounts. But looking online, it seems that are in no rush to do an account review and it can take up to 5 business days.

I think in this case, I wasn't so much the number of phones ordered, rather the shipping address was flagged. I don't have anything to back this, but it's my feeling.

Yes. They closed all the primary accounts used to order the phones, but left secondary accounts open.

I'm always paranoid about losing all my emails. I have multiple accounts with Google/live mail and yahoo. All my emails are forwarded to them so everything is backed up.

But I'd love to have a private server

Once server is setup you counderstand have as many email accounts as you want.

I tried calling that number twice pressed 0 numerous times and got a rep and both reps said the same thing, that they cant help with gmail accounts and that it must be done via email.  Any other numbers to try?

+1 apparently they are only support for Google play and there isn't any Gmail reps

Lesson learned is don't mess around with companies that you can't afford to pi** off.

For all those slightly paranoid people here, you can backup all your Google info here: Google.com/takeout

If you were shutdown, maybe try asking at least for access to that page so you can get your data back.

Come to think of it, people don't usually "back up" stuff that is in the cloud, because the cloud doesn't fail... This is a bitter reminder that it's never really safe unless your have a copy as well.
