Blackberry Tour...?
« on: April 11, 2011, 09:35:31 PM »
Hey all.
So I have a Sprint C&C (read: cheap) Plan, and its time for a new phone. The guy that set me up told me the newest blackberry I can use for this line without any problems is the BBerry Tour. The only thing is he mentioned to get the first generation, but when I look around I can't find anything showing that there are multiple generations- just the 9630.
Any leads?
Thanks! :)

Not sure what they have.

What I do know is that you should try to stick to the Bold. Forget about the Tour, Torch and Curve.

Hehe, thanks, but the trade off with my plan is that I have a limited phone selection.

i had the tour it is a sucky phone it would constantly freeze and need to have the battery pulled. after verizon replacing my tour twice i finally got them to upgrade me to the bold for free.

I guess you're with the tour till you'll see the new Curve, the main things I found helpful is the startup speed and the searching ability's

Are you happy with the Bold? None of the freezing/frequent-battery-pull problems?

I'm happier with the bold then I was the tour. Every once in a while it still freezes and needs a battery pull. My next phone won't be a blackberry I'm not a fan

Instead of pulling the battery you can try pressing the left alt the right shift and the delete buttons.
You still have to go through the whole startup but its easier then actually pulling the battery especially if your phone is in a skin.

I used to do that...until one time my phone went buck nutty on me and wouldnt boot up. I called sprint tech support and they said based on what i was describing, i had bricked my phone. I had planned to go to the sprint store the next morning...Before i left the next morning i tried putting the battery back in and voila it booted up. Dont know if it has anything to do with the the alt-shift-delete, but since then i always do the manual battery pull

The concern you just mention is very common on PC, meaning when a program is running bad the easiest way to shot it down is by pressing ALT +
CTR + DEL to start task manager, but if the situation is very bad it might not work and you'll end up unplugging your PC (not that this is the way to do), this doesn't mean that by doing ALT + CTR + DEL you harmed the computer.

.      Yes I had same issue. Bec u have a "cheap" plan, ur on a old sprint plan and the only way to get bold, curve 3G or any new model is to switch to legit plan, might be cheaper. I switched. But if u don't the tour is the newest phone that will work on ur plan?

btw a bit OT but it seems like Sprint will soon  have an Android with no Smartphone Tax. My guess/hope is it will work on the legacy plans as well.
