We recently flew TLV-LHR-JFK. We had a horrible experience in the airport.
It was empty and 2/6 were flagged for extra screening at security. They insisted on patting down a very young child wearing a tshirt and pants. Another child had his toy that went through ELAL security confiscated because it can be potential used as a boomerang! (Very proud of my son, he asked to speak to the supervisor. Unfortunately the supervisor was the one that confiscated it).
Another child was flagged at the gate for some weird screening, they refused to tell us what they are tested her for. Could have been for drugs. (we would still love to know)
And best of all, only half of our luggage made the transfer.
