Author Topic: Cove Haven Resorts with starwood gold status (Read 15887 times)

Guys, now that cove haven resorts is just affiliated with starwood but not actually owned by starwood, has anyone had any recent experience in terms of what they got having the starwood gold status and booking a room at any of the pocono cove haven resorts (ie cove haven, pocono palace, and one other one I cant remember).

Do you get the 4PM checkout? Can you book the cheapest room and get a free upgrade to a room with a pool?
Can you book the cheapest room with starpoints and then get the free upgrade to a better room?

Anything else I should know?

Champagne Glass Jacuzzi's and Circular Bed's with Mirrors on top. Very family friendly (and super tacky).

I went last august to pocono palace, at the waterfront that morning there were about 12 couples, 11 frum, 1 couple where the wife was jewish and her kids went to yeshiva but she was married to aino yehudi.

People were there from willi, lakewood, all over. Great place if you like the hotel aspect and also great for summer or winter vacas bc of all the activities available. water skiing, banana boating and free unlimited meal mart tv meals. I love it

if u know what ur going to it's not so bad - quality is on a 2* scale but it was nice to park the car and spend 2 days with plenty to do and chill.

If you like looking at yourself all night, then go check it out. Was there once with room w/o windows

Cheesiest place I have ever been, big sign at entrance "Welcome to the Land of Love" The gift shop is like an adult store full of adult products. I used SPG points for night, I then complained and got all my points back.

If you go, whatever you do, do not go into the pools that are in the room, consider yourself warned.

So all 3 of these resorts are pretty bad?
It says full breakfast and dinner included even with point stays, will they give you kosher meals?

I was at one of them a few years ago (I dont remember which one) and because of the reports about the rooms being outdated and musty we made sure to reserve a room type that was newly built. We did take a tour and were veryy happy we didn't choose one of the "upgraded" rooms that were more expensive but really old and worn.

They offered some kosher meals which at the time were from Scranton with a questionable hashgacha, served "airplane food style".

4 years ago I opened the kosher meals and nearly vomited. Airplane food is gold compared to that. Maybe similar to hospital food.
