"When he is well enough, he works; when he is incapacitated, his own people take care of him. And not in a poor and stingy way, but with a fine and large benevolence. His race is entitled to be called the most benevolent of all the races of men. A Jewish beggar is not impossible, perhaps; such a thing may exist, but there are few men that can say they have seen that spectacle. The Jew has been staged in many uncomplimentary forms, but, so far as I know, no dramatist has done him the injustice to stage him as a beggar. Whenever a Jew has real need to beg, his people save him from the necessity of doing it. The charitable institutions of the Jews are supported by Jewish money, and amply. The Jews make no noise about it; it is done quietly; they do not nag and pester and harass us for contributions; they give us peace, and set us an example — an example which we have not found ourselves able to follow; for by nature we are not free givers, and have to be patiently and persistently hunted down in the interest of the unfortunate."
-Mark Twain, Concerning the Jews (Harper's Monthly, 1899)

Here, your first sentences explain why the last sentence is untrue, by definition. It seems clear to me that you are using "death sentence" differently than what it means.
But if you don't understand me, we're done.
A man who is sentenced to death by the king, in just a few days, that's it, he'll be "off with his head". He has a death sentence. However, this man knows, "Ein Od Milvado", there is no one but him, God, and miraculously, the king sends him a letter a few days later, to annul the decree... So now, did he have a death sentence or not? Absolutely. Aiy, he knew Hashem is in charge, that doesn't change anything.

Now, the fact that we will prevail, like we always have, doesn't change the threat.
And let me tell you, it's YOU who doesn't understand me. This is Torah. This is what saved, and saves us at all times. It is our life. Our Gedolim keep telling us this.
Do you understand that six elderly Gedolim travelled in from EY to fundraise. Some of them aren't in the best health, yet, they came all the way here, travelling from town to town. Why did they come?
Because this is real. A real danger. If we don't help them, that's essentially a "death sentence".

Government sponsored Torah learning is a relatively new concept. We learnt plenty of Torah for millennia without the government paying for it. It's a great inconvenience (for people in Israel, who absolutely do not make up the entire Olam HaTorah) that this is being taken away, but by no means any kind of death sentence.
..."death sentence to the Olam HaTorah in ERETZ YISROEL".
What you're saying doesn't change what is. This is what our Gedolim want. They didn't tell all these Yidden to go get a job.

Before modern times people learned Torah while working to support their family.
Rashi and Rambam had jobs.
The Rambam was supported by his brother for a while and only went to work when his brother died at sea.

Thanks, as previously noted:
Do you think Rashi and Rambam didn't want to learn a full day?

The Rambam himself says it's okay to sit and learn, while being supported by others. (Not sure where, though).

taken from https://www.rayze.it/olamhatorah/
"Keren Olam HaTorah is on a daring mission — the largest one yet.

In what was never imagined possible, the Israeli government froze the funds allocated for yeshiva bocuhurim and kollel avreichim between the ages of 18-26, affecting more than 50,000 individuals and their families throughout Eretz Yisroel.

Struggling financially to begin with, thousands of yeshivos and kollelim are in immediate risk of collapse. With approximately 30% of their funding cut, they’re facing a staggering $107,000,000 deficit.

"הצילו, הצילו" — Rosh HaYeshiva Harav Dov Landau shlit"a"

That said, this conversation shouldn't be had here. Let's keep this thread clean for actual campaigns.
Maybe. But its one of the most important campaigns you can donate to... Yes, there is a huge danger of collapse...

While throwing around hyperboles of the so called death sentence upon the olam htorah because of the cuts from state funding, as if the olam htorah is dependent on the zionist state for it's survival, let us not forget that הרבה דרכים למקום to ensure that the olam hatorah has a kiyum. It's not like the current system was the optimal one anyway.

Is there a tzedaka organization that helps recipients by working with them to create a budget and then provides financial support to cover any shortfalls? If not, would this be a better approach than giving money indiscriminately?

Flatbush Community Fund does both financial education and more traditional funds donations but I'm not sure how those 2 parts interact.
