The discourteous and crass response that is slowly turning DDF into a cesspool of hostility.

That's the way you understood it.

The guy asked how he can be sure that they will check his bag through and my response was that there is no way to ensure that. He bought the trip as 2 separate tickets in order to save miles and the trade-off is that he may have to recheck his bag. BTW I have done the same thing in the past and had to recheck and even tough it was annoying, I accepted it as the cost of saving those miles.

I hope that in chaim0m's case things work out and he will be spared the annoyance and enjoy a safe and pleasant flight.

There is no guarantee! I have been denied that request before. They have no obligation to check your bags through on separate PNR's and every right to say no.
I have done it on this exact flight both from jfk, and leaving tlv without an issue.
Is there ever a guarantee to anything?

They have no obligation but no problem for doing so either, so why they will refuse?
Especially in business class they will be more likely to help..

How does that prove they support BDS? They got requests to stop buying a product, stopped buying it without understanding the full controversy and then reinstated the product.
that's not what it seems like. They pulled back because if pressure. But they still support bds.
And using miles isn't free. It's a paid ticket.

What if they rejected bds but caved due to pressure? Would that be better?

Anyone? I'm in the same boat.
You can borrow MR points from Amex, the most points you can borrow if I remember correctly is 80000 on the Platinum, I did this last year.

Looks like you're new here. Biz class on the short run is economy class, same seat. Waste of miles.

He called and confirmed whith Sn and got a email confirmation.

Yes.
similar IT glitches happen with other airlines.
Sometimes in those cases after awhile they deduct the miles.
Sometimes they never do.

I would use the miles to book another ticket soon, and test my luck.

In how long is the first flight?

Is there a chance of finding 3 seats on this route now?
