Car rental liability insurance
« on: March 27, 2011, 07:40:11 PM »
Is there any other way of buying liability insurance besides from the rental company? I do not own a car and I am renting a car from Enterprise in Fort Lauderdale. They claim that the state minimum is my responsibility and I must pay $17.95/day for (full) coverage. Any alternative?

if u don't have your own insurance, then the CC's insurance becomes primary.

That's the case only for CDW = collision damage waiver.
This thread is about liability coverage.

as a usaa member, I was able to rent a car under 21 with hertz, plus I got a discount. And for this discussion, usaa gives minimum liability insurance. I rented in ny, and usaa told me I have $10,000 liability for car that i hit.

At some point I posted a brochure from hertz with the minimum provided, can't really find from phone but it may help.
