It was too good to last for long.
But it was really good. Great for those who managed/will manage to take advantage.

Together with Amex-CO partnership ending, this will hurt Amex points worth a fair bit.

I was assuming that by "just before these take affect" you were referring to the AC changes.

Yes, I'm sure there will be a rush on CO transfers before 10/01.

they are a monopoly, they will continue doing what they want, the only way to stop it is by convincing the credit card companies that these points have no value, which if i remember correctly was the reason why aeroplan had that crazy deal where the gave business class for economy prices and first for business prices, the rumor was the credit card companies had complaints from customers that they never find availability and they passed on their worries to aeroplan and they freaked out to show a certain quota of tickets booked were reached.
So any one here up to mass emailing the CEO'S of amex canada and cibc?

This deval is right on the heels of the one two years ago, and combined, these dates are like 60-80% more... in TWO years. Uch.

Today, one-way ClassicFlight Rewards require 67% of the miles needed for a roundtrip flight reward. As of January 1, 2014, a one-way trip will require exactly half the amount of miles you need to redeem for a roundtrip ClassicFlight Reward.

Any idea if I can route from NY to Europe zone 2 as a connection (less than 24 hours) and then go back to Europe zone 1 so it costs only 45K in biz?
