website seo.
« on: April 16, 2011, 11:54:12 PM »
I just launched a website (not gonna put link cuz it might be mistaken as advertising) and I need it to show up much higher on google. I am thinking of giving away a 10-15$ item free. I am wondering how many links that would generate ?

Could I just charge shipping ?

Charging shipping will make it not free, the better a deal (and the longer it's alive) the more exposure it'll get. Speak to an SEO expert, but I doubt those links will do the job.

Context (i.e. they'll associate with free whatever-it-is-you're-giving-away), they'll link to an offer page not your homepage, and other reasons. Like I said, ask an SEO expert.

Nope. Talk to an expert.

If you're not getting the $10-15 item for free, you can spend that money on a qualified SEO consultant.

Trying to keep costs low. IF I was spending lots of cash I would sign up with a affiliate network.

Not sure what you are selling or whatever, not sure why affiliate has to be expensive.

Just bites into profits.

Affiliate links are usually going via a third site, so again, no seo there.

I'm selling leather jackets.

Most affiliate programs charge start up fees.

I'm doing this as a experiment so really don't want to invest a ton of money I don't have.
