Just having them send you a new physical card on the old account won't get you a new bonus.
You can apply for a Visa SP.  If you're approved you get a new bonus.  I think even if you still have your SP MC. because it's a different product.

Not sure if it helps,
but I just applied for the sapphire preferred with the chip bc I am also going to europe in the summer and wanted a card that had both a chip and no foreign trans fees.
Before applying, I was also considering getting the Ink Plus which also charge NO fx fees but doesn't have a chip. I currently have the ink exclusive rewards (which is the card you can get if you have a business checking account with chase) and when I called the reps at chase they told me if i wanted to move over the CL and get the Ink plus i could, but I wouldn't get the bonus points... I would have to apply separately.

Again not sure if it helps your specific case, but the point is, like @ckmk47 said before, if it's a similar product and you are asking for them to switch over you're probably not going to get the bonus unless you apply for it by itself.

Don't believe they give a MC version of this anymore.

I know Chase is pretty liberal in their determination of what classifies as "travel" on this card.

But I have a few purchases from Priceline (Express Deals) for a hotel booking that code as "PROFESSIONAL SERVICES NOT ELSEWHERE CLASSIFIED"

The charge itself says- PLN*PRICELINE HOTELS

So SMed Chase and they gave me the "Visa merchant categories blah blah blah..."

Anyone with experience?

Chase Sapphire Visa
I originally posted in that thread but deleted it.

This is the CS Preferred thread, that is CS Visa.

Just because everyone else does it wrong, doesnt make it right.

That thread consists of a bunch of CSP threads that were all merged into 1. I think this should be merged as well.

Indeed. Once in a while someone has a question about the non-preferred. The first 100+ pages is about a 50k offer for the CSP.

Reps have been saying year minimum but maybe you'll find one that can push it through.

I recently had a rep offer me to downgrade to freedom when I only had CSP for 6 months...so I guess it depends on the rep

People transfer points to anyone's mileage account.
