EZ Pass and rental car
« on: November 28, 2016, 04:21:34 PM »
Last night I rented a car at NJ airport. I had my EZ PASS with me but did not remember to take it out when I went through the toll. Several yrs ago,  I was driving a rental car and went thru the $1.00 toll. About a month later I recieved a bill from them for  $1.00 but they also added a processing fee and if my memory is correct I believe it was for  $25.00. I made quite a few phonecalls but the rental car agency  refused to budge so I am asking-is there anything I can do now or wait till the bill comes and try again to fight it. Thank You.

Probably best to call EZpass or go to your ez pass account and add/change your vehicle to the rental car.
Just a guess, no experience.

That should work unless someone else already has the car on theirs, in which case you are good either way...

Don't forget to remove the vehicle after you get this resolved.

from experience,
i rented a car drove a rout with like 10 tolls, one day i got a bill for $25 max service fee and one toll charge, called and they told me if i send a e-zpass statement for the rentall week showing that i used my pas they will refund me,
since i didnt have that exact charge on the e zpass statement, they charged me for the toll but not the service fee
i hope this helps

not sure from which rental company youre talking, but i had same story with enterprise/national (they are the same company in case u dont know) and after getting the bill with the $25 processing fee i called them and they very easily refunded me that fee, iirc u have to talk to a specific dep taking care of this toll issues the number should be on the bill u get, cause only they can refund this fees good luck!
Do u have any different idea for a signature?
