Ok, so for all those waiting with a bated breath, here is the final score.

All of the following is with United.

$100 Travelbank purchase- auto credit
$24 charge together with ETC- auto credit
$28 charge together with Travelbank- auto credit
 $6 charge for fees on award travel- auto credit
$110 charge for fees on intl award travel- did not auto credit, but after calling in they manually gave the credit

Update: I bought 3 $50 GCs on the Delta desktop website a week ago, and then booked a ticket using them +$58 on the Plat card. I just got credited for the $58 but not for the GCs.

In another thread someone reported that they purchased TB on 11/5 and got the credit.  I did 2x $100 on 10/30 with no credit. So not sure if/when it stopped working

I'm not sure. But it definitely worked now.

If all else fails, I might have to make 36 award bookings to utilize the airline credit 😂
