Does buying United business class upgrade offered in app or online as ancillary purchase qualify for credit?

In other words purchased Main Cabin and being offered an upgrade after the booking was done and PNR issued to E+ for $95 or J for $229.

Big dp for Travel Bank purchases. You must wait 1 day from when selecting United as an airline before making a travel bank purchase or it will not credit. Tried and tested both ways..

@Dan says here that Southwest $109 tickets are reimbursed, but I am looking for more current DP to confirm this.
