pro not and its not the reg gold its the premier rewards gold

I sent a message for both me and my wife. My wife got the 50k right away, but I have still not gotten it. Should I keep on sending a message as a reply to the message I get from amex, or should I be starting from scratch each time?

heres their answer:

Just to add my experience...
I recently cancelled my plat & gold cards. Last week i applied for both again and got instant approval. Today i received the plat card. i then sent an e-mail from my plat acct. to membership rewards saying:

"I recently applied for and got approved for the premier gold card with a sign-up bonus of 25k points after spending $1000. I now see that there is a better offer of 75k points after spending only $500 (bonus id# 5894). I would greatly appreciate if you would be able to apply this offer to my account."

I got this reply:

platinum card- applied about a month ago
2nd response i got

"Thank you for contacting Membership Rewards Department.

I understand your concern and wish to inform you that we have various promotions throughout the year which are solicited through various marketing channels. We do not extend a current promotion to Cardmembers who have applied and approved with a different promotion.

However, as an exception and considering your Valued Cardmembership with American Express, I will make bonus points promotion adjustment to your account.

You can reply to this email once the $1,000 spending is completed on your account and you have received the 50,000 bonus points or 6-8 weeks time have elapsed after meeting the spend threshold, whichever is earlier, and I will manually make adjustments to bonus points offer.

I tried that category with my platinum card and got negative response. I was hoping you responded with a different category.

1. Anyone has been successful in getting additional points for both the Gold and the Platinum cards, of its been one or other (I've been successful with Gold and am now wondering what my chances are with the Platinum)?

2. Are any of the people who are successful with the Platinum additional points people who recently applied (i.e., April 2011)?

Yes, I got gold and then Plat. I was rejected on the plat at first since I opened it after the bonus expired but I asked one more time stressing how long I have been with them(10 yrs) and I have a bank account with them etc and they said they will give the points when I meet the $1000, which I did today to speed it up.

I wrote to two different departments and I just got another message this morning from a rep. she wrote:
Dear XXXXX,

I received both your emails and will respond to you in this one.

As per our guidelines for better offer promotions, you could have received the balance bonus points if you had opened your Card within 90 days of the better offer promotion. I see that your Card was opened on October 31, 2010. The bonus ID 5894 started on April 1, 2011.
Since your Card was opened than six months before the current promotion started, there is no provision or way to have it linked to your current Card account.

If I just applied for the Amex Starwood last week (havent even gotten the card yet) do I have a chance at getting the extra 20k points from last summer?
