With Amex it is usually better to try calling IME.+1
This is because the ppl who send the secure messages are higher up than the MR dept. so once they notate your account, even an MR supervisor will not be able to help you (This is what an mr supervisor told me)

I would go the message route because this way you have it in writing, much better then trusting the operator to put a note on your account...

I tried speaking to a rep on Friday but he said needs my card number to look up my account. Im out of town for a couple of days and would really like to make sure I get the offer before they cancel it. Is there a way for me to get account info before getting the actual card in the mail?

ask the regular CS to bring up your acct with your social security number then transfer to MR.
