Is it a bad idea to sign up for a gold card assuming the new info we have is correct? If 5894 is dead and 5985 ends in a week anyone applying today won't be able to lock in any 75k bonus offers for the consumer gold.

5985 is for PRG cards applied for by 08/01. You still have 3 months to spend the $1k and they'll still match you afterward..

say something like..I recently applied for....I now discovered that at the time amex was running a promo for ... the id is .....

Does anybody know how to send Amex an email before I even get the card?

I want to send them an email regarding Code 5985 before it expires on Aug 1st & I just called them up for them to overnight the card and they said it already shipped and it should be there no longer then Aug 4th.

What's the rush?. these codes go after the "application", not the "activation".

Hi Guys, long time follower first time poster. I signed up the Plat and Gold offer with the double browser method, for like 8 people but i signed up for the REGULAR GOLD account by mistake . I called up to try to get my 10k to 75k and the rep was very nice but she looked and looked and said she could not find and regular gold card that offers first year free and 75k. Since she had nothing to go one she could not add the 65k to my account. I checked this whole tread I could not find someone else as dumb as me who applied for the wrong Gold card. Has any one had a similar situation ?

Dunno what u are talking about. There is nothing but the regular card (unless you are referring to the business card).

You are fine. You just need an active code and a nice rep.

I want to apply for the gold premier card for my parents.. but I'm taking a risk at not getting the bump.. Should I just try for the Chase Sapphire's for them? What are the chances of getting the bump? Any thoughts?
