Alright Smokey Joe R I just pulled the triger and am awaiting a response. I HATE IT WHEN THIS HAPPENS!!! how long is the regular wait? Is it a bad sign? I have 14K on my starwood.

Yea I did a double browser back in the day (gold and plat) one was approved instant the other took a few hours.

applied and approved for gold 15k and plat 25k on 6/22. saw on FT forums and here that bonus code 5894 will expire july 1/11 and plat code july 11/11. tried calling MR to get a notation on my accuonts, but they said they can't do anything until i receive the cards. kind of afraid that the bonus code on the gold will expire before my card gets here. i tried getting my account numbers to set up an online account, but they said they can't give that out either. they say my cards have shipped, but could be as late as july 2 till i get them. any ideas on what i can/should do? will these bonus codes really expire in july?

IIRC the date goes by the date u were approved not when u get them to apply it

I spoke to countless reps about 5894 and 5748...these codes last full years and as such 5748 ends in january 2012( i was informed this yesterday once again) and 5894 I dont recall but it should be later than July..Ill find out for sure next time around

Only posting so that others do not give up , my card was issued 8 months ago--hope it helps others to keep trying

I was upgraded in December 2010 from a green card to gold, I had to fight to to get my 50,000 , have watched you guys and I decided "why not" ask for the additional 50,000 even though was a long time ago

I applied for the Premiere Rewards Gold card a while ago , I received a 25K MR points signup bonus. But I'm a little disappointed because now there's an offer for 75K MR points (offer 5894). Since you say you can not give me the difference of the 50,000 points this disappoints me!!, after all being a card holder of AMEX for many years, I would have hoped that you could make an exception , since you can not give me what "I" think would be the right thing to do for such a loyal client as myself. I then ask you to PLEASE do something to show that you do appreciate my loyalty. how about 25,00--- I will leave it up to you.

PS -- If I would have known that you wanted me to "apply" for the gold card I would have , Amex invited me to convert to the gold card,so I did , please do your best

I opened card a week ago and called up and on second try got the upgrade to 75 k
