Must book 1 person at a time to get the 20% off!
Valid for journeys made between 01/12/2016 and 28/03/2017
They are also having a promo that lets people bring 2 suitcases when flying TLV to north america

Amex has an offer for $160 credit when you spend $800+ on Alitalia.com

Example:
TLV-NYC on Jan 25 (1h 25m stop in FCO)
return on feb 2 (2h 10m stop in FCO)
price per person: $560
20% off brings the price to $449 per person
Book 2 separate tickets for $449 each to qualify for the amex promo and get $160 credit which brings the price for 2 people to $738.

Business class for the same dates is $2243. 20% off gets you to $1795 and the AMEX credit of $160 brings the total to $1635 for one person.

Maybe you can buy alitalia gift cards for $800 with Amex and use the gift card to book.

No idea if this will work, but its great ideas like these, that keep us coming back to DD and DDF!!!
