Introduction:
A truly delicious burger doesn't need any toppings, simply from the grill to your mouth. No plate no bun. Or if your more civilized a simple toasted bun. Your burger should start out simple, You could get creative but the base should be: 60/40. 60 (lean beef) / 40 (fat beef). Some people add a egg and or some breadcrumbs. Patties should be made by hand. Some even press a thumb print into the pattie to avoid shrinkage or just because they like to see that they can. Topped with salt and pepper on both sides right before grilling. When you grill you should flip once maybe maybe 2ce never more.

Burger Toppings:
Lettuce, Pickles (or Relish), Tomato (Thick Cut)
Pastrami, Beef Fry or Bacon, Smoked Brisket, Grilled Salami
Sunny Side Up Egg
Sautéed Onions, Peppers or Mushrooms
Grilled Pineapple or tomato
Avocado
Fake Cheese
Chilli
Jalapeños or Banana Peppers or green chilies
French Fries, Onion Rings
Pickled Red Onions, Raw Onions
Foie gout Paris puts this stuff on everything!
Salt and pepper potato chips -Dan

Burger Condiments:
Ketchup, Mayonnaise (and Variations Chipotle, Truffle, Spicy etc.), BBQ, Sriracha or Other Spicy Sauce, Aioli, Worcestershire Sauce or Mustard

Burger Meats:
Beef, Lamb, Cornbeef, Veal
Chicken (but is it really worthy of being called a burger?) (of course it's not worthy)

Hamburger Master Thread

I cant believe we are missing such a thread so I created this! IMHO this does not belong in recipe master thread because I am a burger fanatic and there's so many types and options when making a good burger.

To start I am making a burger with pickles on bottom then burger but cant decide if next level is the sunny side eggs or pastrami, let me know what you guys think...

Why not both?

I like my burger with ketchup, mustard, and mayo on the bottom, then lettuce and tomato, then the burger, then pastrami or beef fry, then homemade thick cut onion rings,  topped with a fried egg, then aioli, then the bun.

My choice... Toast the bun, flat square patties (few things I hate more than a spherical burger), meat should be not too lean, grilled medium-well, with romaine, raw onions and gobs of mustard (yellow or spicy brown, depending on mood)...

How runny are ur eggs? Depends if u want the yolk to get absorbed in the top bun

No question pastrami goes under the egg. Egg has to be the top layer just under the bun

No question pastrami goes under the egg. Egg has to be the top layer just under the bun
I tend to agree with cholent but that's only because I like 'em runny, but if urs are
not so runny
Then it probably doesn't make a difference

In & Out Burger
I've Made this before and grilling the burger with mustard on it gave it a nice kick....

Ingredients
2 Tbsp vegetable oil and more for brushing griddle
2 large onions, finely chopped
salt
¼ C mayo
2 Tbsp ketchup
1 Tbsp sweet pickle relish
½ tsp white vinegar
1½ tsp mustard
2 lbs. ground chuck (60%)
4 hamburger buns
pickles ( I left off)
1 C shredded iceberg lettuce
4-8 slices of tomato
pepper
8 slices of (Fake) cheese

Instructions
Heat oil in pan and add onions.
Cook onions covered, over medium heat for 30 minutes or until onions begin to turn golden brown and caramelize. Watch them so they don't burn.
Remove lid and cook for 5 more minutes and then add ½ C water. Allow water to evaporate.
Set aside, onions can be made several days ahead of time and refrigerated.
Mix together the mayo, ketchup, relish and vinegar in a bowl and set aside.
Form meat into 8 patties about 4 inches wide and ½ inch thick.
Heat griddle and lightly brush with vegetable oil.
Toast the buns on the griddle, split side down.
After they are toasted golden brown spread the bottom bun with 1 Tbsp of the mayo mixture.
Top with tomato and lettuce.
Salt and pepper both sides of hamburger patties and cook on the griddle for 3-5 minutes.
Spread top of patty with 1½ tsps mustard and flip.
Top patty with (Fake) cheese and allow to cook until desired doneness.
Add hamburger to bun and top with caramelized onion.
Nutrition Information
Serving size: 8 burgers or 4 double burgers
