Data point: Had a chat with Amazon to honor lower price that was offered today and they declined, saying they only match on TV's. For my curiosity, I went ahead to setup a return on the item, and got back this response: "There's no need to return your item. Your refund has been issued."

Have never received this as an automated response before. Is there a certain price point or different reasoning's where this is offered?

The refund was prob issued for full amount you paid....
they don't take food back

But if you push for a return you'll get a full refund and keep the item

Had the same thing with some food I bought with SS which I forgot to cancel.
