Amazon's "Buttoned Down" Men's Apparel Brand
« on: December 13, 2016, 09:35:33 AM »
Read online yesterday that Amazon has come out with their own house brand of men's clothing.  The first few items launched are men's dress shirts which they claim will rival higher-end manufacturers like BB and CT.  Their return policy appears to be very open-ended, like Nordstrom...  Was curious to see if anyone here has personal experience with any of these shirts...

Shirt quality and return policy could make this compelling... Thoughts?

In for one, curious to see the quality and the fit.

Thanks!

I've seen it discussed for a while already that Amazon was going to invest heavily in its own white-label apparel brands. One more nail in the coffin of Gap Inc. and their ilk.

ETA: Where are their launch promos? $39 for a shirt ain't much of a deal...

They don't seem to be looking for that clientele.

There is.

All I see is fitted, which isn't the same as slim.

Looking at the spread collar shirt, the collar looks awfully small which would be a deal breaker for me.

It's not semantics. Fitted is generally looser than slim fit.

But every company can decide for themselves what they want to call their styles. If they call it zebra fit it could still be referring to slim fit. Its just a matter of what they want to call it!

Which is why I ordered one shirt to test out the fit. ;)

It's not written in stone but in my experience fitted is usually looser than slim fit.

Can buy 1 now to see how it fits and holds up and then stock up later if there is a sale.
Can even return the one you bought now ;)

I got my shirt. It definitely feels and looks very nice, and high quality. I got the fitted version, and it fits closer to slim fit than I expected.

My first impression is that it's a good shirt but I will see how it looks after the first wash. I will probably stock up on them whenever Amazon decides to discount them.

The shirt I bought says eligible for return until December 2017. Is that their idea of lifetime?
